NEOM announced that BlindLine, the team from Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University, was one of three winners of the first OXAGON Hackathon, held in Riyadh in partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Education. NEOM describes the BlindLine solution as using artificial intelligence to enable the learning of Braille.
BlindLine grew out of the AI-powered Braille learning research led by AIRL’s Founding Director, Dr. Ghazanfar Latif, work that also underlies the granted US patent for a Braille reader system (US 11,393,361) and, in 2024, the gold medal at Geneva. The winning teams were offered support from the OXAGON accelerator to develop their ideas further.
